Regeneration

Clear Oil Regeneration

Regeneration is the highest form of recovery: your waste oil regains its original properties and becomes an industrial resource again.

Our commitment

Why regeneration rather than incineration?

The lubricant EPR regulation (since January 2022) places regeneration at the top of the treatment hierarchy, ahead of energy recovery. It is the most environmentally responsible choice — and the most economically virtuous.

One tonne of regenerated oil saves the equivalent of 70–80% of the energy needed to produce one tonne of oil from crude.

Compliance

CILA and the lubricant EPR

Since 1 January 2022, the lubricant sector has been subject to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). The target is to reach 57% collection rate and 90% recycling/regeneration by 2027.

CILA is fully committed to this framework by systematically prioritising regeneration over energy recovery. Our industrial clients directly contribute to the national circular economy objectives.
